If you could have any superpower while playing darts, what would it be and why? C-Mac ponders this question with a mischievous grin. "I'd love the ability to read my opponent's mind," he exclaims. "Imagine knowing exactly what they're thinking, their strategies, and their next move. It would be the ultimate advantage!"
 

How do you mentally prepare yourself before a high-stakes match or tournament, and do you have any specific strategies for staying focused and confident? C-Mac takes a lighthearted approach to preparation. He doesn't start thinking about the match until a couple of hours beforehand. He eases into the right mindset, perhaps with a couple of drinks to relax. He throws some darts, focusing on doubles, but there's no strict routine. He simply lets the adrenaline take over, embracing the excitement without any set rituals.
 

Can you share some memorable moments or highlights from your darting career that have had a significant impact on you? One unforgettable moment was during the Steel City Open in 2021. C-Mac found himself playing alongside Jesse Allen against formidable opponents, Bruce Robbins and Dave Walsh. Despite a rough start, with their opponents shooting a blistering 14-dart leg, C-Mac’s partner, Jesse, looked at him and asked, "Are you really giving up?" That was the spark C-Mac needed. He responded with a 100 score, followed by Jesse's remarkable 180, ultimately winning the leg. It taught C-Mac the importance of keeping his head up and not wasting energy, even in challenging situations.

If you had to choose a theme song to play every time you stepped up to the oche, what song would it be and why? Brace yourselves for the thunderous "Nightmare" by Avenged Sevenfold! This song perfectly captures C-Mac”s darting persona. He wants to be a nightmare for his opponents, striking fear into their hearts with every throw. It's all about embracing the intensity and unleashing his darting prowess!

 

What are your goals and aspirations for your darting career in the coming years? Is there a particular milestone or achievement you're aiming for? C-Mac achieved a significant milestone this year by landing sponsorships with DPFL and The Dart Guys. But his goals extend beyond personal achievements. He desires more top 8 and top 4 finishes in single events, and his ultimate aspiration is to play and enjoy the sport to the fullest. He's a lover of travel, relishing the opportunity to meet new people and promote the sport. More than being a top player, he wants to become an ambassador and promoter of darts.
 

How has being a sponsored player with DPFL Darts impacted your darting career and overall experience in the darting community? C-Mac notices a change in how people perceive him within the darting community. More locals approach him to discuss darts and DPFL, and he can sense a newfound respect. Initially, he put pressure on himself as a first-time sponsored player, but now he finds it easier to promote the sport. People are taking him more seriously, and he appreciates the support and opportunities that come with being a sponsored player.

What have online darts done for you, and what do you wear when you play? Online darts have allowed C-Mac  to spend more time in front of the board, perfecting his skills and enjoying the sport alongside his wife. As for his attire, C-Mac  opts for comfort. He sports basketball shirts and an Under Armour shirt, allowing him to move freely. And let's not forget his signature touch—a pair of Under Armour shoes that he wears both indoors and outdoors. Talk about dedication!

Biggest dart win? In 2013, C-Mac  secured a massive victory by qualifying for the masters. To claim the title, he had to defeat the legendary Larry Butler in a thrilling three-leg match. With remarkable wins in the round-robin stage, C-Mac  left a lasting impression and proved his mettle against top-notch competition.
 

If you could play a game of darts against any fictional character, who would it be and why? C-Mac’s mischievous grin resurfaces as he contemplates this question. He chooses the villainous Bullseye from Daredevil. Why? C-Mac  wants to test his skills against the reputed Bullseye, renowned for his incredible accuracy. It would be a darting duel for the ages!
